September 15, 2023
Oppo introduced its latest addition to the A-series lineup today in China, the A2 Pro. It features a curved 6.7-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and is powered by MediaTek’s Dimensity 7050 chipset. Notably, Oppo guarantees that the 5,000 mAh battery inside the A2 Pro will maintain at least 80% of its capacity for a minimum of 4 years from the date of purchase. Should the battery fall below this threshold within the specified timeframe, Oppo will provide a complimentary battery replacement.

According to Oppo’s testing, the battery retained 88% of its original capacity after undergoing 1,000 charge cycles. This capacity should comfortably support daily charging for four years before dropping below the 80% mark. The 5,000 mAh battery also supports 67W wired charging and includes a proprietary battery health engine and power chip to monitor charging, preventing excessive heat and overcharging.

The software experience is provided by ColorOS 13.1 on top of Android 13. The device also boasts an IP54 rating for water and dust resistance and an in-display fingerprint scanner.
Oppo A2 Pro in Three Official Colors
The Oppo A2 Pro is available in three official colors: Vast Black, Desert Brown (featuring vegan leather), and Twilight. Pricing starts at CNY 1,799 ($248) for the 8GB/128GB model and goes up to CNY 2,399 ($330) for the 12GB/512GB variant. Open sales in China are set to begin on September 22.
