In the early hours of Tuesday, a devastating inferno tore through the former Marine Corps Air Station Tustin, reducing a historic WWII blimp hangar to ashes. The hangar, once a proud symbol of the region’s military history, was engulfed in flames, as firefighters struggled to contain the blaze.

The fire, which started around 1 a.m., quickly spread, with flames piercing through the wooden structure’s roof.
