In a remarkable display of Tennessee pride, Dolly Parton graced Neyland Stadium during the Volunteers’ home game against Georgia. The iconic country music artist, and native Tennessean, took center stage at the end of the first quarter, escorted down a stage on the field by none other than Peyton Manning himself.

Parton and Manning teamed up to perform the beloved “Rocky Top,” captivating the crowd with their joint rendition. Despite encountering technical issues with her sound during the performance, Parton expressed her honor to be present and her love for both Manning and the enthusiastic crowd.

“I couldn’t hear because my sound went out, and the stadium was so loud,” Parton remarked. “But I was so honored to be here, and I love Peyton, I love the crowd. It’s just good to be home.”

Adding a spontaneous and delightful touch, viewers caught a glimpse of Parton’s resilience when her microphone inadvertently stayed on, allowing them to hear her continue singing “Rocky Top” during a play call in the booth.

Beyond the electrifying performance, Parton shared her thoughts with CBS Sports’ Jenny Dell about the partnership with Tennessee’s athletic department. The collaboration, announced in September, includes an exclusive Vols edition of Parton’s latest album, “Rockstar.” This special edition features a live version of Parton singing “Rocky Top” and a co-branded merchandise line, further solidifying her connection to the Volunteer spirit.

Parton’s visit to Neyland Stadium not only showcased her enduring talent but also reinforced the deep bond she shares with Tennessee, making it a memorable moment for fans and fellow icon Peyton Manning alike.
