Watch Out – Be Vigilant in Life!
Welcome to my blog post! It’s been quite the tumultuous year with changes happening quickly and dramatically in many aspects of life, from work to health and everything in between. One thing I think is of utmost importance during times like this is to watch out – to be vigilant.
We have to remain vigilant in our minds and our hearts, taking care of our mental health and well-being in whatever way is best for us. Taking breaks when necessary, engaging in self-care and self-compassion. Checking in on ourselves and those we care about. Seeking out new and creative ways to connect and interact in times of social distancing.
And we have to watch out for the needs of our communities, particularly the most vulnerable members. During times like these, we need to be mindful of those who don’t have access to resources and services, those who are suffering in silence or just simply don’t have enough. By extending a hand and taking the initiative to give where possible, we can make a significant difference in the lives of those who need it most.
At times, the news can be overwhelming and exhausting. As a collective, it’s important that we stay alert to potential issues and remain aware of any new information that comes our way, but at the same time take the time to acknowledge our own struggles, needs and successes, while doing the same for those around us. We have to work together and be ready to listen, so that when something new arises, we are prepared to make wise and compassionate decisions for ourselves and those we are in a position to help.
Let’s remember that times like these come and go. In times of crisis, it is natural for emotions to be heightened. As individuals, we can each make an effort to ensure that our actions, decisions and responses come from a place of positivity and of care, both for ourselves and for others.
Watch out, stay vigilant and remember that this too shall pass.
