Rising with the Sun – the Benefits of Early Rising
Every morning I rise at the break of dawn, greeting the day with the bright orange hue of the rising sun. To some, 6 o’clock may be early, but to me it’s the start of a brand new day with all of its potential waiting to be realized. Early rising has long been known as a secret weapon to a productive day. And why wouldn’t it be? Starting off on the right foot is a key factor to having a good day and what better way than getting up early?
Rising with the sun comes with numerous benefits, from being more focused to actually feeling healthier and more energized. Studies show that rising early can boost both mental and physical health by aligning with our natural circadian rhythm and melatonin cycles. Even small lifestyle changes like getting out of bed at the same time each day and having a set morning routine can bring drastic improvements to our physical and mental health.
So what does a typical morning look like for me? After rising early and washing up, I make myself a cup of coffee, light some incense and open up the curtains to take in the morning light. After getting centered with some deep breaths, I spend my morning planning my tasks for the day and working on my writing projects.
Although it takes some willpower and dedication to rise with the sun every morning, I am often rewarded with newfound clarity, focus, and energy throughout my day. By embracing early rising, I am able to become my best self and make the most of my days.
