Former Syracuse Player Brendan Paul Arrested on Drug Charges Linked to Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs
Former Syracuse basketball player Brendan Paul was arrested on drug charges in Miami-Dade County. The arrest coincided with federal agents’ raids on properties owned by rapper Sean “Diddy” Combs as part of an alleged sex trafficking investigation.
Paul was apprehended at Miami-Opa Locka Executive Airport and faces felony charges for possession of suspected cocaine and marijuana candy. According to an affidavit, officers discovered drugs in Paul’s travel bags. He was released on a $2,500 bond with a hearing scheduled for April 24.
Although Paul’s arrest wasn’t directly related to the raids on Combs’ properties, his name has surfaced in connection with Combs’ sex trafficking allegations. In a federal lawsuit filed by Rodney “Lil Rod” Jones, it was alleged that Paul served as Combs’ courier for drugs and guns.
Paul’s attorney, Brian Bieber, stated that they intend to address all issues in court rather than through the media.
Paul, who initially walked on to the Syracuse basketball team in 2018, played in 16 games over two seasons before transferring to Division-II Fairmont State. He concluded his collegiate career with the Fighting Falcons, appearing in 35 games across two seasons.
