Dubai’s Unique Address System
While it is true that Dubai’s address system can be different from what people may be used to in other parts of the world, it is not accurate to say that Dubai has no address system at all.
Dubai’s address system is based on a combination of street names, building numbers, and landmarks. Instead of relying solely on a postal code or a house number, addresses in Dubai often include directions to a nearby landmark or major intersection. For example, an address in Dubai might read “Al Maktoum Road, next to the Emirates Towers Metro Station.”
Dubai has also recently launched a new digital addressing system called “Makani,” which assigns a unique 10-digit number to every building and plot of land in the city. This system can be used in conjunction with traditional street addresses to make it easier for people to find their way around the city.
So while Dubai’s address system may be different from what people are used to in other parts of the world, it is still a functional system that allows people to navigate and find their way around the city.
