I argue thee that love is life. And life hath immortality.
Love is a beautiful thing, and it’s something that most people can relate to in one way or another. It’s an emotion that we often associate with life and living, as love is usually thought of as a key component to living a fulfilling life. But does this emotion of love also come with immortality?
It’s hard to say for certain, as there isn’t concrete proof one way or another on this issue. What we do know however is that love has the potential to live beyond us; for example, if two people fall in love and decide to have children, then the bond between them is something that lives on even after they’ve gone. This idea of the eternal nature of love was explored by poet John Donne when he wrote “For Love all Love of other sights controls, And makes one little room an everywhere”. He argues that if two lovers have devoted their lives to each other, then their relationship will live forever regardless of where they are in space and time.
Ultimately, whether or not love carries immortality may be debatable, but it does give us something that may be even more important – purpose and hope for the future. Love provides a sense of purpose and direction for many people’s lives because it allows them to focus on another person rather than themselves. Additionally, it gives people something to look forward to in life because they know there will always be someone out there who cares deeply about them and loves them no matter what. This type of assurance is invaluable and makes life so much sweeter.
To conclude, I believe it is fair to argue that although there is no definitive answer as to whether or not love has immortality, its existence still gives us something extraordinary – meaning and hope in our lives.
