Taman Mini Cultural Park


Taman Mini Indonesia Indah (TMII), which translates to “Beautiful Indonesia Miniature Park,” is a cultural theme park located in Jakarta, the capital city of Indonesia. It showcases the diverse culture, arts, and traditions of Indonesia’s various provinces. TMII was inaugurated on April 20, 1975, and has since become a popular tourist destination and educational center.

The park spans over 250 acres (1.02 square kilometers) and is divided into different sections representing different provinces of Indonesia. Each section features traditional architecture, landmarks, and cultural exhibits that reflect the unique characteristics of the respective region. Visitors can explore the park by walking or by renting bicycles, electric cars, or golf carts.

Pavilion of Indonesian Culture: This area features traditional houses from each province of Indonesia, showcasing their architectural styles, customs, and way of life. It provides a glimpse into the rich cultural heritage of the country.

Indonesian Archipelago Lake: A large man-made lake in the middle of the park represents the Indonesian archipelago. It is surrounded by replicas of traditional houses from various islands and offers boat rides for visitors to explore the diverse culture and geography of Indonesia.

Keong Emas Imax Theater: This theater presents educational and entertaining movies, often in 3D or 4D formats, providing an immersive experience for visitors.

Science and Technology Center: An interactive center dedicated to science and technology, where visitors can engage in hands-on experiments and learn about various scientific principles.

Various Cultural Performances: Throughout the park, visitors can enjoy traditional dances, music performances, and cultural shows from different regions of Indonesia.

Additionally, TMII also houses recreational facilities such as a water park, a cable car ride, a children’s playground, and several restaurants serving traditional Indonesian cuisine.
