MLB Explanation


MLB stands for Major League Baseball. It is a professional baseball league in North America and is considered the highest level of play for the sport. MLB is composed of 30 teams, divided into two leagues: the National League (NL) and the American League (AL). Each league is further divided into three divisions: East, Central, and West.

The MLB season typically runs from late March or early April through September, with the playoffs taking place in October. The postseason includes the Wild Card games, Division Series, League Championship Series, and ultimately culminates in the World Series, where the champions of the National League and American League face off to determine the overall winner of the league.

Baseball has a rich history and is known as America’s pastime, with many iconic players and teams that have left a lasting impact on the sport’s legacy. It remains a popular sport not only in the United States but also globally, with fans from all around the world following their favorite teams and players.
